Have you ever taken the time to realize that you will never get the chance to relive this day over again? Minute by minute this day is being locked into history never to be replayed again. Yet, many times we lethargically allow it to tick by without being a good steward of it. In Ps 118:24 it says, “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” He has framed each day with his purpose and agenda then puts you and I smack dab in the middle of it. The Psalmist says in the midst of each day we need to rejoice and be glad; not looking in the past or even in the future, but dealing with the present! In others words live in the now! Seize every opportunity that is before us to do God’s will.
We must embrace today’s opportunity that is before us and be a part of what God is doing in the earth. Laying down our agenda for His purposes! I believe that is what Jesus is saying in Luke 9:23, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Our lives can become so filled with different

responsibilities and agendas that we end up not having time to be a part of God’s eternal purpose.
I remember one Sunday morning before service a young boy came up to me as I was getting a cup of coffee and said excitedly, “Can you smell the Coffee?” It stopped me in my tracks. Even though it was nothing profound, I knew in this young voice that God was speaking a bigger truth to me. I was going through a season that I was being distracted by things that were not eternally important and ultimately it was keeping me from God’s purposes. Just like Martha, in Lk 10:40 who was distracted and doing many things all the while her sister, Mary was just sitting and hearing what was on Jesus’s heart.
We need to be tenacious about people! For it’s people that are on God’s heart! In John 3:16 the word “world” is talking about “the people of the world”. God has always been madly in love with people and wants to bring them back in a relationship with Him! Jesus died on the cross for people! Jesus came to redeem or buy back His inheritance and dwell amongst them. God Loves People!
He gave His life for people so maybe we should give our life for people also. – (tweet)
Therefore, let’s lay down our busy agenda and begin loving on people. Being involved in bringing them back into fellowship with God, through Jesus Christ the one that has laid his life down as the sacrificial lamb for all mankind. In the very beginning story of the Bible we see God walking in the midst of the garden with people who He had made in His image. Then at the end of the age the Bible shows God in the flesh ruling and reigning on the earth in the midst of His people. God has always wanted to be among His people. God is into people!
So let me ask you, “Can You smell the Coffee?” It’s time we get concerned with the things that are on God’s heart and then make the necessary steps to be a part of it! He gave His life for people so maybe we should give our life for people also.
